I'm the founder and sole operator at Contarini Ventures: a syndicate of founders purchasing and improving small, beloved iOS apps.
The apps we acquire are labors of love for the original creators: we respect that by investing in quality, being considerate with customer data, and doing right by the products.
Companies tend to want to grow faster, funny enough. I help startups improve their growth and profitability through metrics-oriented growth marketing and product development.
One client managed to get all the way to SPAC: we started working together when they were at $3,000/mo in spend.
Co-Founder & CEO
At Checkraise we created the first legal, native browser-based real-money online poker room. I led product, engineering, marketing, fundraising, as well as the licensing process for a heavily regulated product offering.
Within 6 months of launching real-money operations we realized $100,000 in monthly customer wagers, building partnerships with some of the poker websites in Brazil.
Co-founder & Head of Product
At Happier we created a social network based on the concept of a gratitude journal, and positive psychology.
As Head of Product I managed product, design, and user acquisition. Over 2 years, we drove usage from zero to 100k MAU.
Co-Founder & CEO
At 19 I founded and bootstrapped Spreadsong, an early iOS app company that built some of the top book apps on the platform.
At Spreadsong I designed, product managed, and marketed Free Books and Free Audiobooks. Prior to selling the portfolio in 2012 we scaled to 8,000,000 downloads, 800k MAU, and $700k/year in sales without any outside funding.
Along the way we distributed 100M+ public domain books!
